How does Laser Hair Reduction Works?

The selective laser wavelength is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles and the blood supply of the hair. This light will heat up the follicle to a particular temperature, causing damage to the hair follicle and preventing future hair growth.

The optimal Laser Hair Removal treatment occurs when the hair follicles is in their active gio vistage (anagen).

Not all hair is in the active stage for that reason multiple treatments maybe required.

Who is this for?

The treatment can be performed on men and women with all skin types, as long as the colour of the hair is dark than the colour of the skin. This treatment cannot treat white, white-blond, blond, grey, and pale red coloured hair. For laser hair removal eligibility, a full assessment is provided at the initial consultation.

How many sessions are required?

We recommend 6 - 10 sessions, however this can vary between each individual. Treatments are performed every 4 - 6 weeks, and additional maintenance treatments are required.

Preparation for Laser Hair Removal

For optimal results it is important that the treatment area is shaved approximately 24hrs prior to the session. One must avoid wax/depilatory cream, fake tan, and suntan up to two weeks prior to the session. It is important to inform the therapist of any changes including spray tan, as laser light is absorbed by the colour of the hair follicle and can also be absorbed by the pigment on the skin.

Is Laser Hair Removal painful?

Laser Hair Removal treatment can be slightly uncomfortable, many clients describe it as an elastic band flickering on the skin. The device has integrated cooling and a cooling gel is also applied to reduce any discomfort. Many clients find Laser Hair Removal tolerable.

What can I expect after Laser Hair Removal Session?

Post laser treatment the facial hair may take 7 - 10 days to fall out while the body hair may take 2 - 3 weeks. Individual results will vary and are based on thickness of hair, colour of the hair and skin.
