Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book more than one Treatment at a time?

Absolutely, If its your first time I will do a consult get a treatment plan worked out for you and if you would like to do multiple treatments in one sitting then we can and we will plan ahead on what we will do next. Its good to have a treatment plan, important not to rush so we do get the most desirable results

If I'm under 18 can I get Treatment?

Unfortunately not cosmetic treatments, Sorry. We can treat laser hair removal and skin treatments with parental consent

How can I pay?

Cash, eftpos or Afterpay

How can I book in with the other people renting a space at Lush Aesthetics?

Will I bruise?

Look, I would love if every single client could walk out not bruised but our faces are full of blood vessels and capillaries so sometimes you will bruise. You can take arnica prior to your appointment and after to help the bruising go down. Lips are very vascular so it is common to have some bruising, swelling in this area. Majority of the time you will not bruise with anti wrinkle treatments but again, it is possible.

I don't want to look frozen!

Don't worry you wont! sometimes we get caught up with celebrities and think we will end up looking "fake". I will treat you on the conservative side at your first appointment and at your two week review I can add more (at your expense) if needed. This is to ensure I don’t over treat you and you have a natural result.

Due to TGA Guidelines it is extremely difficult to list other questions

we recommend booking a consult to get all your questions answered.

Am I a suitable candidate for C02?

If you're looking for CO2 laser resurfacing, CoolPeel or advanced laser skin rejuvenation in Geelong, our team can assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate treatment and settings for your individual concerns.

Most healthy adults wanting to improve skin quality are suitable candidates. A consultation is required to assess your skin, discuss your goals and determine the most appropriate treatment. Can treat all skin types - including darker skin types.

Scar Treatment - scar must have been healed for 6 months.

Is the treatment painful?

Your comfort is our priority. A topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment to help minimise discomfort.

  • CoolPeel® CO₂ Laser: This treatment is generally very well tolerated, and numbing is optional. If you would prefer numbing cream, please let us know when booking so you can arrive earlier to allow enough time for it to take effect.

  • Fractional CO₂ Deep Resurfacing: This is a more intensive treatment, and topical numbing is essential to maximise comfort. As it treats the skin more deeply, you can expect a greater level of sensation both during and immediately after the procedure compared with CoolPeel®.

During the procedure, most people describe feeling a warm, stinging sensation similar to a mild sunburn. This sensation is typically more noticeable with Deep Fractional CO₂ resurfacing than with CoolPeel®.

Immediately after treatment, it is normal to experience warmth, heat, and a moderate sunburn-like sensation. Following Deep Fractional CO₂ resurfacing, these sensations may be more intense and last longer than after CoolPeel®. As the skin begins to heal over the following days, it often develops a dry, rough texture that feels similar to sandpaper.

While these sensations are a normal part of the healing process, most patients do not report significant pain after treatment, with any discomfort typically settling within the first 24–48 hours.

How long does the treatment take?

Most appointments take between 30–90 minutes depending on the area.

What areas can be treated?

Common treatment areas include:

  • Face

  • Neck

  • Décolletage

  • Around the eyes

  • Around the mouth

  • Hands

  • Acne (face & body)

  • Surgical scars on the body (scarring must be 6months old)

  • Stretch Marks

What is the downtime?

CoolPeel®

  • Minimal - no downtime experienced for most people.

  • Redness usually first 24 hours then turns Pinkish can last up to 3 days.

  • First 2-3 hours hot stinging feeling - like a bad sunburn

  • Warm, tight feeling first 24 hours.

  • Rough sandpaper feeling skin - not noticeable mostly just to touch.

  • Most patients return to normal activities within a day or two

Fractional CO₂ Resurfacing

  • Redness, swelling and peeling for approximately 7–14 days

  • First 3 days significant redness and swelling

  • Will need to adjust schedule to allow 3-5 days at home after treatment.

  • Can wear make up after 3 days if needed.

When will I see results?

Many patients notice brighter, smoother skin within the first few weeks.

Collagen continues to rebuild for up to six months after treatment, with ongoing improvements in skin firmness and texture.

How many cool peel treatments will I need?

CoolPeel®

A series of 3–4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is often recommended for optimal results.

Are there any risks with treatment?

As with any laser treatment, temporary redness, swelling, peeling and sensitivity are expected.

Less common risks include prolonged redness, pigmentation changes, infection or delayed healing.

What is the difference between skin needling and CO₂ laser?

Skin needling uses fine, needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, triggering bodys wound healing response which stimulates collagen and elastin production, offering gentler, more gradual rejuvenation. CO₂ laser resurfacing uses laser energy to remove damaged outer layers of skin while also stimulating collagen production deeper within the skin. CO₂ laser is generally a more intensive treatment and can deliver more dramatic results for certain concerns.

Which treatment is better for acne scars?

Both treatments can improve acne scarring, but the best option depends on the type and severity of your scars. Skin needling is often recommended for mild acne scars, while CO₂ laser may be more effective for deeper or more established scars. CO2 laser can also treat surgical scars.

Which treatment lasts longer?

Results from both skin needling and CO2 can be long-lasting when combined with good skincare and sun protection. CO₂ laser often produces more dramatic and longer-lasting improvements after a single treatment, while skin needling typically requires ongoing maintenance sessions to preserve results.
